What's going on in the art room?
Don't think about making art, just get it done. Let EVERYONE else decide if it's good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art. -warhol
WOW. 5th Grade students did such an amazing job creating a self portrait in the style of Pop Artist, Roy Lichtenstein. Students begain this project by taking a picture of themselves displaying an emmotion. We then printed these pictures out, traced them, and colored them using primary colors and benday dots.

First grade students have not only studied and learned about the life of Vincent van Gogh, but they are now creating a town of their own using collage techniques. It is amazing to see what some of the students create and come up with to include in their pieces!
This week students began creating letters for their Robert Indiana inspired sculptures. Students have been tasked with the assignment of creating a Robert Indiana clay piece that is made up of 2-5 letters and the word can be a nickname, name, or something that is special to them and timeless.
Kindergarten students are transitioning into using clay in the art room, and what better way to do this then to practice on Pottery HD! Pottery HD allows for students to gain experience in a clay production process known as throwing. Due to time constraints, developmental levels, and overall logistics, the elementary art room normally does not get to experience this clay creating technique.
